Vanessa Plaza Lazo is an Ecuadorian Production Designer based in Los Angeles. Her career in the Film & Entertainment industry, which started in Latin America, is a succession of brave decisions that landed her in the US, where she has been thriving ever since.
Raised between Ecuador and Germany, Vanessa started her career in Argentina where she worked on hit TV shows, such as, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Latin America, multiple seasons of Big Brother Argentina and Your Face Sounds Familiar, amongst others.
Vanessa has designed national TV commercial campaigns for NBA, Amazon, LA FC, DoorDash, Call of Duty, Bose, Spectrum, COACH and many others. Additionally, her remarkable artistic eye and wide multicultural background have earned her the opportunity to design for Weathering (NETFLIX), the feature film Dramarama (AMAZON PRIME) and Lenovo Late Night I.T., Seasons 1 & 2 (YOUTUBE).
Vanessa has also put her skillset to work on activations and experiential marketing projects for studios, such as, Tudum (NETFLIX), Halloween Horror Nights, Kung Fu Panda Lunar New Year and Grinchmas for Universal Studios Hollywood.
An Emmy and Telly Award winner, Vanessa is a member of The Art Directors Guild and TV Academy. She holds an MFA in Production Design from CalArts, with a background in Scenic Art.
